Default Carolina Beach, NC -Great White Shark "Mary Lee"

Just saw this on Ocearch FB page, though I would pass it along. If the link does not come up go to ocearch.com, hit shark tracker, select Mary Lee

Attn Carolina Beach, North Carolina: It appears Mary Lee a 3,500 lb, 16+ft mature female great white shark may be north bound and passing your area. If she continues to stay near the beach, we will make fb posts otherwise follow the Global Shark Tracker powered by Cat Products at www.ocearch.org.

I find this to be terribly cool but I'm afraid all of the attention will attract someone to do something stupid and sad, like to try to catch her or even worse.

If some idiot were to try something I do wish he would get eaten whole, Jonah style.....

This thing was near NMB around Thanksgiving last year. Guess its vacation schedule is set for this year as well off the Carolinas.

Yea she was at the seabouy at OIB last year too. Hung out around the Steeples for awhile too.

Seems like she has a "route" that she likes.

She came in the Cape Fear River last year and pinged between Battery Island and Bald Head (close to the Pigfish Grounds). That would have got the spot fleet excited if the timing was right.

Last year she ran up the river in Daniel Island quite a ways. Can you imagine taking a nice evening cruise down the river in a kayak or floating near your dock in an intertube and then seeing a shark literally the size and weight of a Sedan D'Ville coming at you? I bet her dorsal stands nearly 6 feet by itself.

Westerly at 19? No. I'll hang out with the grand kid. Next few days look pretty crappy. I think I'll save gas and energy for a better day.
