Default White Oak Shores Campground

Hi guys;

my wife's friends have a camper permanently setup at White Oak Shores. They want to sell it for what we think is a pretty good deal. I've never spent any time on the White Oak or the Bogue Inlet end of Emerald Isle and I hear that the river is shallow with a lot of oyster beds.

That being said, I don't have to use the boat there...the campground could serve as a place to relax and sleep at night. We could still launch the boat from MHC/Beaufort and just use the Seadoo in the river perhaps.

What say you all? Tell me what you know about Stella, the river, navigation, fishing...anything that'll help us make a decision.

Thanks.

Been on the Whieoak 27 years. Started out up the river, now live at the bridge. Great place. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

had a camper in white oak for years . we love it . great people and fun times.river has good redfish and trout fishery. 20 min. run to bogue inlet and river is not too bad if you follow someone the first few times down. Boat launch in Stella is fine only problem is the railroad tresstle bridge if there is a flood tide.come on down always use a new fishing buddy!!!!

Check out Waterway in Cedar Point. I hear theres a waiting list, but there are some units for sale, and those would jump ahead of a waiting list. Two private ramps right on the ICW.
I guess it depends on what kinda deal your looking at, but we are right there at Bogue inlet.

My parents have a camper there and I run our 23ft Kencraft down the river all the time with no issues. Let me know if you decide to purchase it and I will be glad to show you the channel.

White oak is tricky run out of. We are in waterway camp ground. Nicest boat ramps around. Been there for 14years now. Good inshore fishing. Getting out of the inlet is a different story. Campers come up for sale around there this time of the year at good deals. You can call them to look. I know a couple of people who moved to the white oak from waterway. Apples to apples. I love being close to Dudley's and the islands.

thanks for the replies and the advice. It was too good of a deal to pass up. We'll be making the purchase tomorrow. We can't wait to make some great memories with our kids!

We went down for a few hours today just to do some cleaning and learn some things about the operation of the camper. Caucmu, we're at P5.

Love this area. Always seeing tons of dolphins in the channel and the inlet. Lots of good little islands to pull up on and hangout.
