Default this wind SUCKS

Spent last week on a school trip in San Antonio, the week before that in the gym with basketball players and I've been itching to get offshore.

Tried it today and made it a mile before coming to my senses and turning around. Two-four footers with a lot more 4 footers in the mix than I wanted.

Came back in and made a half-hearted attempt at some flounder but couldn't get a good drift going with wind/current combo. Came back in and had a few drinks.

Same forecast the rest of the week, so I guess I"m gonna have to buy more beer and less bait.

Same here. Tried to head offshore on Monday. Hit a few 6-footers in Beaufort Inlet (thanks to the SW wind). Turned around after the set and trolled on the inside for Spanish. Got three in six hours.

One day, I'll get those damn dolphin....

We were trolling right along side you guys - I recognized your boat from THT, after having little luck and getting beaten to death/drenched going up and down the beach on the outside Monday morning(black Sea Hunt 225 w/ rods that are a bit excessive for non genetically-enhanced spanish). Ended up pushing back out at 3 Monday afternoon to hit 14 buoy for an hour or so w/ little luck. Tuesday turned out to be a beautiful day though, boated 11 dolphin w/ a 27 pounder in the mix and were able to run WOT most of the way back in.

Default Dolphin

Think South from Beaufort Inlet....the Papoose area was on fire 2 weeks ago with the dolphin. I ran a 20' Onslow Bay out there and saw a 24 Carolina Skiff trolling alongside me. We mopped up on the mahi.

That's the kind of day I dream of having!!! damnit! The 21'6" SeaFox just won't do 6' waves, and I've seen a lot of them lately. I was out Last saturday morning in some rough stuff, but we were commited to catching something. Landed about 17 Spanish...that's a good enough haul for a cookout later.
