Default Whose going out Saturday 6/30?

SW 5-10knots and seas 2-4 feet out to 20 miles. Are the dolphin in that close yet? I'm thinking about heading out Saturday morning. Not sure if I need to go out to the stream though. Thoughts?

Reefcast is showing 4' at 5 or so seconds as of a few minutes ago. It'd be great if this let up...for the entire coming week. When are you making your call for whether or not to go Sat? We are all over the place up in the air about what to do. Got some time off, but the weather man must have found out about what I did to his yard.

Gonna call it late Friday night. If the period is that short, we'll stay in.

I hear ya, we're in the same boat, pun intended. Got Monday through Wednesday off, so I'm trying to convince the weather gods to bestow some mercy upon us. We built a really nice shrine in my backyard; feel free to come burn an old reel, some gas, un-cashed checks, etc.

Most likely, not too many folks will believe me, but my boy Zach and I saw them within 6 miles of shore last year in the shipping lane. Bailers for sure, but there were plenty of them. We ran up on them because of a bird scene on the way back in.

Default Out of MHC

Last weekend the dolphin were at least 20 NM offshore. I know things can change, but I would at least plan on the 240 rock before seeing a good sign of dolphin.

A buddy of mine went out last week to station rock and caught a a little peanut he said there was more with him but they wouldn't bite, there was also some caught at Charlie buoy a couple weeks ago. Station Rock is five miles of the beach and Charlie buoy or c buoy is about 15 miles off.

Sweet! Thanks for corroborating my story! In all seriousness, we were buffallaxed to see them that close to shore.

Thinking of going out of Bogue Saturday... If not, I'll be at Topsail all next week. Maybe I can get out some while I'm there.

We're leaving out of Shallotte Inlet Saturday- Saturday. Hoping to fish some of the ledges for some good bottom fish and lite line. We'll be trolling for Mahi, Kings, and Spanish as well. Being we love to eat just about all fish, my wife and I don't target any certain fish. What ever bites. SEA YA out their. Channel 6 and scan mode.

Ditto, I was out there Sunday as well (Kencraft 215 with blue T-top) and fished for several hours. Cigars on hank browns slow, followed by skirted mahi lures fast, and not even a nibble.
