Short answer is no. April-may best chance. Oregon inlet if you want to catch them.

it depends on how far you want to run. Tough to get them south out of the inlet but if you head up towards to hatters your chances improve.

15 miles to the slot then 45 miles due east. With a 60 mile limit that's your best bet.

Thanks T-Bone
I took your advice and change my reservation for the month of May. I hope we can get out 3-4 trips.

Ken is right. Yellowfin are at the Big Rock now. Probably not as thick as you picture them though.

Back in about 04-05 we caught a limit of yellowfin on the big rock in March. We went again every March for 5 or 6 years and always struck out after that. For a while I had given up on yellow fin out of Morehead but over the last 4 or 5 years we’ve caught 1 here and there in April and May. Plus some guys got into them really good up the beach last April. So there’s reason to be a little more optimistic about your chances on finding them over the next 6 or 8 weeks than in years past.

The good days of Yellowfin out of Beaufort inlet are gone but last year seemed to get better. Maybe they will come back.

Kmac- Good stuff
We'll be fishing out of Beaufort all nice days in May offered by fish God, so let us hope they will show up one of those days.
