Default Lower Roanoke Striper

Each year a group of us go down to rockfish in the lower Roanoke and we are going this weekend. House has been booked for a while. I know the regulation change and we plan to just C&R and catch up on life. Does anyone have any recent reports? I know the water has been high with all the rain. Have they moved up river any or should we focus down around the mouth? Id appreciate any help with only one day to fish.

I've heard of fish spread all along the lower river and into the Sound. The water is high but should be starting to drop. May be able to catch some hickory shad too.

Haven’t heard a recent report. Usually this time of the year the bite is better toward Jamesville and Plymouth.
