Small ones in the canals.
The first large school of big-uns I have seen was last Friday near Shallotte inlet, but they were moving east at the time, and haven't seen them in the waterway since.

Darned NE wind the last 4-5 days had made it impossible to see them. Wind finally subsided late Tuesday.

Seems like they have disappeared in last three days. The water inside has cooled off about 6 degrees in the last week and I think the baitfish have moved out.

I’m fishing this weekend also and all I can tell you is I have not seen a single pogie anywhere since the big blow. Nada. Mullet and blues are here. Been to both piers everyday for a week and out on the boat. None up this way( oak Island). Hopefully they show. Before the blow there were two schools near Yaupon. 8 boat got on them and really got them all. Got someone checking on the north Myrtle area.
water improved alone today. I’m on a mission to find some and pen for the open. Unless they show up bait will be tough. I have to wonder if Omega catching 2 tons over their limit is the cause. Never seen less in the way of pogies here unless the river is full. Haven’t seen them in river though. Maybe south.

I agree. Even the mullet have moved from in the surf out further. It’s like November here.
We plan to troll up blues.

Water is dirty down our way and sounds like yesterday was really tough out there. Only heard of one Spanish caught yesterday @ Cherry Grove.. Dirty water and no bait.. time for a tournament! haha

We caught some nice ones this past Saturday off Yaupon Pier. Water was dirty as others have said, but something had them going crazy. Wind was blowing like crazy and you could still see them flipping everywhere around there.

It’s crazy how that can get gone so quickly. They were everywhere Saturday. Saw big pogies and ribbonfish catching air trying to get away from something?? Were you catching the blues and Spanish off the pier or trolling?

pulling spoons close to beach. Went out on pier late today. Cheerygrove got a king or two today. Apache got a small one. Rumor has it they lost a big one at the pier.
