Default The Wahoo Challenge Oct 17th MHC

The Wahoo Challenge will take place again in MHC on Saturday Oct 17th if we can get some decent weather. I am not affiliated with it, just want to get as many people in it as possible. Last year almost 80 boats entered it and top prize with TWT was around 30k. $500 entry fee and $200 TWT. Top 3 heaviest fish take home the money. Leave inlet at 5am and lines out at 2pm. Weigh in at Jack’s waterfront. Hope to see everyone out there again. It’s a fun, run and gun tournament. They do a terrible job advertising it (only on Facebook), so hence the reason for the post. Who else is in?

Current weather forecast is good Wednesday and Thursday, then diminishing for Friday and Saturday. We'll see.

We’re planning on trailering up from Wilmington to fish, depending on the weather.

Got an email today the committee may make the tournament captains choice fish sat or sun. If they do that we’ll probably fish the troopers king tournament sat and wahoo Sunday.

We have a boat chartered for it as we do every year but weather looks terrible for Sat now and the boat is not available Sunday. Looks like Mother Nature may strike the Wahoo Challenge again. It has happened quite a few times.😠

Tourney has been pushed off to Sunday the 18th. Registration Saturday. I guess Sunday looks better then sat at this point. Who all will still fish on Sunday?

Sunday is 4-7 footers at like 6 seconds. Don’t think many small boats will be able to fish it. Sucks but NC is the windiest place on earth
