Hey you striper fanatics, I just saw the weather forecast for the Bay. Y'all are hardcore.

I hope you catch a bunch of cows.

Can't wait to hear the fishing report.

Tight lines from 200 miles inland.

And a good meet it was. All I know is I'm glad I didn't pick up the food tab. The drink tab wood have been a gift. Unfortunately, I charged the batteries on my camera but left it home so the phone cam has to do. After the food came out not many heads came up from the plates, especially two who will remain unnamed who ordered the Surf Rider crab pot. We swapped lies and planned the attack for tomorrow. Brian (Ocnslr) and myself welcomed the NC contingent of THT. I had a great time meeting you guys and look forward to tomorrow if the weather gods favor us in the morning. I'm off to bed. Sorry for the poor pictures

Going clockwise from the bottom left is

Ocnslr Mud Runner, Capt Hook, Thubert, Hot Spot( his head is in the plate), Trollnheel, Brians Wife Cathy who is not in the picture was gracious enough to take the picture. So for that she earned a seat on the Mud Runner tomorrow as coordinator of the two amateurs that will be onboard.

Hot Spot came up for air on this one.

Cathy and I made the long trip across the street from our condo to SurfRider and met the group. Had a few beers while they ate dinner, talked about boats, fishing, the weather, and the local rockfish tactics.

Of course, we know Carlos, and now Cathy gets to go fishing with him tomorrow, while I have to go to work...

Well, it was nice meeting new folks, and I hope they have a great day tomorrow.

It was blowing like a 500 dollar hooker at my place this morning. I'm 50 miles SW of where they are.

MAN...looks like I missed a good time, (and thats BEFORE the fishing!!) although I had my alarm set for 530pm.....I never even heard it, after the Docs office and a trip to Walgreens.....I was OUT, drug induced coma!!...woke up about 4am FRIDAY morning, wondering when my alarm was gonna go off??!!! Those muscle relaxers REALLLY WORK.

On watch now, winds seem to be fishable for the beach, hope you guys are finding the fish!! Whats the plan for Saturday??

CYA,

Brad

Well, you can't say it was for lack of trying. We departed on schedule with an unexpected fourth crew member, Cathy wife of Ocnslr (Brian). I got to the boat and she had the engines down, bow lines off and was rigging baits. Man, I would have her crew ANYTIME! She is serious about her fishing, knows her stuff and good company. We departed the Amphibious Base with small craft warnings flying. The trip out was good and as Capt Hook was fishing 60'when I arrived, I started at 35' and worked southeast to deeper water. There was bait on the screen but apparently no predators to make them ball up.Other than the wind we had a beautiful day. Being in the lee of the resort area deceives you. Eventually the bottom looked like a barren desert. Reports from VirginiaBeach to Currituck, North Carolina were the same. By noon small crafts were upgraded to Gale Force so I called it and we headed in. Once around Cape Henry we started taking them on thesnout. Tomorrow's forcast doesn't bode well.Gottagive it to the Carolina boys, they're Numero Uno.

Brad

You did the right thing. Rest up and take care of that back.

Dippin while trolling

Trolling the downriggers look better than the weights we use around here. Thanks to the Capt Hook Crew for the great company.

Been thinkin 'bout y'all all day. Just got back from dinner at AppleBees celebrating my youngest daughters birthday.
Told everyone to hope the ones fishing up in VA today are safe and have luck. I wore my kingfish shirt in support of you guys.

One out of two ain't bad! I love the pic of Spot in the cabin crashed next to the heater!

Some days you get the fish...........some days they get you.

Better luck tomorrow, stay safe......and warm!

Nice boat MudRunner!

No fish. It was rougher today than yesterday. Seas 5 - 6ft and rising, winds at Gale force.

Will post pics from today later!

Rest up and try some backwater fishing before you go!

Sure glad you didn't go out in that mess.
