I live in Summerfield NC but have a home in Beaufort NC. So I'm willing to to hunt anywhere in between.

Default Dove Hunting

I live in Apex and would like to meet up with someone as well. I have a 16 month old Boykin and would like to see how he will do retrieving Dove's. This will be his first hunting trip. If you are planning on going please let me know when and where.

Not being rude as I am sure you have a nice dog, but don't be that guy.

We chatted and l get where he is coming from and IMO no trolling. If l decide to go, will just carry my dog to a public dove hunting place and see how he does. If its too hot l want even bother...

I'm looking for a paid hunt. Not "Cyber Scouting".Somewhere that sells dove hunts. Start another thread if you want to talk about hunting dogs.

Then you should have said that and you might have gotten more responses.

Damn ammo shortage. Had intended to order a few cases of shells a few months ago and didn’t get around to it. Pickings are slim locally. Especially 16 gauge.

This man is serious about finding a dove hunt a week before the opener on a boating forum then gets mad about his thread getting slightly off track. Ya'll pipe down.

Had a few birds on the line 2 weeks ago...they've definitely been feeding. Our sunflowers didn't do as well as last year, but no storm has knocked them all over as of yet so there's that.

Check out DeWitt's Sporting Clays in Ellerbe. I went to their range year's ago with a wedding party and still receive their newsletter.

Here's an option on two different paid hunts- $100 get you an assigned seat, lunch, company of a good bunch of guys and the money goes to a great cause- ...and you get a chance at raffle prizes and door prizes.

https://ccanc.org/dovehunt/

The 5th in Shelby or the 12th in Dunn.

Western Hunt Schedule & details:

We are happy for the opening day schedule to back to normal this year which has us excited for a much more exciting hunt with many more birds experiencing their very first pressure of the year
  • We also have a better field location this year surrounded by an abundance of likely nesting areas
  • The new field will also have us hunting over sunflower and millet which the birds prefer over the corn field that we hunted last year
Our schedule will be slightly different from last year where we only had an afternoon hunt…

This year, your $100 entry fee is allows you hunting access for the entire day of Opening Day and the following Monday, 7/7 if you wish to come back!

Hunters can choose to participate in the morning, afternoon, or both hunts:
  • 6:00am – Arrival/check in for morning hunt
  • 6:30am – Approximate start time of morning hunt
  • 12:30pm – Arrival/check in for afternoon hunters | Lunch, CCA messaging/updates, raffles
  • 2:00pm – Approximate start time to enter field for afternoon hunt
Eastern Hunt Schedule & details:

After a successful afternoon last year, we have decided to stick with the 2nd Saturday for our eastern folks again
  • We plan on using the same field on Tart Farm again as well unless conditions and our pre-hunt scouting gives us indications that a different plot on the farm will yield a better hunt
Schedule:
  • 12pm – Lunch and Registration
  • 1:30 – Approximate time that hunts will kickoff
