Bogue Inlet this Saturday

We have 3 boats heading out from Bogue Inlet Saturday morning. Looking for dolphin, kings, or anything that will bite for that matter lol. Planning on trolling ballyhoo, cigar minnows, daisy chains, and live menhaden if I can find some before we head out. Considering going to Southwest places but wanted to see if anyone had some input or suggestions as we game plan.

I can tell you Bogue on Saturday is low tide at 5:30. SW wind even at 2 to 3 on outgoing tide can ruff it up....Weekend before last the cans going out after the last turn were not right. If you don't run that inlet wait and follow someone.

Thank you, that's really good to know. I have only run it twice. My one buddy is quite familiar but still great info.

just run further east than where the cans cross the bar. the buoys sit on the very far western edge of the channel. the place to be cautious is between buoys 11 and 14 I've seen more boats run aground there this year than I have anywhere else.

Inlet was just fine. Ran out around Hutton and trolled for a while before bottom fishing. Didnt see any life at all. Not many people trolling but lots bottom fishing but didnt see much caught.

Ran it today, low tide you could clearly see which markers were too close to the bar. Stayed out of the breaking waves and had 7 ft or more all the way out. Like others said hug the point.
