My first visit yesterday. From Charleston.
No monkey sightings. Assume it was too hot and/or middle of the day.
We went in via St Helena sound from the north into the creek.
Understand there is a sandbar on other side...Beaufort side?

Did you do a loud monkey call? That will usually bring them out.

The monkeys are there.
Throw some apples at the "Do not feed the monkeys" sign and they magically appear

We did do a monkey call from a phone.
Do not plan on feeding or throwing food at them.
We were at the dock in the creek.
Beautiful ride from Stono Ferry area to/from Morgan Island. Monkey sighting would have only been icing.
Is there a frequented sandbar on southern side of island?

I have a place across from the island. Dont see them much. I havent seen them all year. I never been on the island but I think they keep them in cages and let them in and out .

We found some accidentally on a small hummock off the little creek. We went to see them on Morgan but had no luck. Stopped to explore the hummock as we had a cold boat ride home. First guy who realized there was a monkey above him in a tree nearly jumped out of his skin initially.

need to go early in the morning or later in the evening to see the monkeys. They head for the shade during the hot part of the day. Also, they are small and brown in color, not black like you would expect. They come right down to the bank before the dock.
