Default Nags Head/Oregon Inlet

Vacation next week, planning on getting some fishing in, as well as hanging out on the beach.

Are there any restaurants open?

How about tackle shops, grocery stores etc?

Bringing an offshore boat, wanted to make sure we can get ballyhoo etc up there with the current situations with closures etc.

Live in Murrells Inlet and can bring plenty of bait if needed.

Thanks for the help.

Hope you have great weather. If you've not been there before, respect Oregon Inlet as it can be a beast.

Thanks for the help.

Hoping the weather lines up for a day or two offshore.

I haven't run the Inlet in a few years since I was living in New Bern, but know that it will humble you quickly. Plan to follow/or run in the daylight first time through.

TW's or Oceans. Also, the OI Fishing Center.

Wonder if would be better to follow the charter fleet out early then waiting around until later in morn to follow someone else? I'm sure there is plenty of traffic throughout the morn but I'd hate to be sitting in water waiting for someone to follow who may or may not truly know the way.

That is the plan follow or run in the daylight first time. I realized my original response could be misread, punctuation is important.

Boat going in the water when we get there Sat, run down and scope it out.

Thanks for all of the help!

All restaurants are open and mobbed. I saw TW got about 30 boxes of ballyhoo yesterday. Oceans east has some also.
Good luck. We got a 167 lb big eye on Sunday. Tuna fishing is the best I’ve seen since I moved here in 2006.
Bay has plenty of trout and drum.
enjoy

I was just there and Nag's Head is just as nuts as always. The channel is well marked with bouys. If you've never been there before then follow someone, but otherwise it hasn't changed much since last year. Tuna were everywhere and the sharks are bad. Good luck!

If you like Italian, I highly recommend It's All Gravy. They sell pans of stuffed shells, lasagna etc. All you have to do is thaw and bake in the oven. I work out there every other week and bring a pan home. Good luck with your trip.

Stripers Bar and Grill in Manteo has excellent fish tacos and you can get a table with a nice view of Shallow Bag Bay. TWs is an awesome bait shop, give them a call before you go. I need to check out Oceans East myself.
