Already started. Yet the rivers are all pretty high and itís pretty dangerous to launch a boat at some of the launches. I caught 2 Americans on the 8th but havenít tried since then.

Iíve had good luck with the tandem rig. Shad dart with a spoon trailer.

These two color combinations have been good for me the past few years. I put a white grub on the pink head and run a green/orange grub on the chartreuse head. Going to the Neuse tomorrow for the first time this year. Need a break from the trout.

Going West over the Neuse, in Kinston today, I could see quite a few vehicle rooftops in the ramp parking lot. Couldn't see if there were trailers, or people were bank fishing. River was high and running pretty hard.

Fished the pungo in belhaven today. Caught 2 nice 20" trout but on a side note, a hoat in front of me ran over this big shad. It was still twitching when I pulled it out of the water

Fished Neuse at Goldsboro on Friday afternoon for a couple of hours at the confluence of a nice creek. Another boat was there. Water was high but there was a good color change. No bites. Didn't see the other boat catch a fish either.

Striper opened on the Albermarle/Roanoke. CSMA is closed.

Seems like the bite has started picking up good downstream around Pitch Kettle. The Tar arrived is seeing good action as well from Greenville up towards Old Sparta.

Bought a skiff that I have since sold because i bought another one that was bigger and newer that I found for a steal. Want to pay off some bills (harley, wife's car) before I even consider looking for a contender. This keeps me sane till then lol

Fished 3.5hrs and caught 25 hickories on the Neuse today. Lost a few more and bunch of short strikes. Had some minor engine problems and left anchors at home but other than that it was a beautiful day on the water.

Caught one today that had a Lamprey attached to it.

That eel would make a heck of a rock bait! Mind if I ask where abouts on the Neuse as in how far up? Iím thinking about a trip next week if my schedule allows
