Default Winterizing an I/O in SC - kind of

This is the first time I've owned an I/O during winter. I have a 3.0MPI with the two blue drain tubes. I live on Lake Hartwell and the boat is kept on a lift. Tonight it will get down to 31 and I will drain the water using the two tubes today. Saturday we will take friends out on the boat. Since we plan to keep running all year (except maybe February), I'm not sure how much I need to do. Yes, I know I could have stuck with outboards. I just put my Honda outboard in the water when it is below freezing.

How much winterizing do ya'll do when you're not putting the boat up for the winter?

When I had my inboard, I just ran pink RV antifreeze into the block after each winter time use.

Since you have an IO you could do the same then just leave the outdrive down so any water drains out before it freezes.

Another option is to heat the bilge.
