I have t heard much but I think a few buddies were going to try tossing the net for a few today. I’ll give them a shout later and see what’s up.

Went to St Helena Sun, barely covered cooler bottom. Had high hopes, but it's not looking good right now. Hopefully we don't get anymore storms.

Tried a few deep holes in Chas harbor yesterday. The shrimp were small and scarce. Hopefully they come back in force soon, got a 4 day weekend lined up at the end of the month to hammer them.

Default SC Shrimping

Shrimp baited at Cape Romain the Saturday after the hurricane passed the coast. 1/3 of a 48 quart cooler full after about 2 hours of throwing the net. A mixed bag of medium and smalls. Spoke with a few others guys while we waiting on the tide change - They were not doing so good.

Did the storm push the shrimp out of the bays into the ocean or did the storm push them back up in the salt marshes?

Boat and crew will be hitting the shrimping grounds again this Saturday. Hopefully the "big shrimp". will be on the flats.

Will keep you posted.

Lady Shrimp Killa got a full cooler the other day up near McClellanville somewhere. Big shrimp, too.

This is something I have always wanted to try but being an out of stater, the license fee makes it cost prohibitive.

How far North has anyone tried shrimp baiting with success?

Was getting some deep then had to leave and pick up a buddy. Set poles up late in harbor and didn’t do much. Others got half a cooler, but they were throwing pancakes versus our tacos, triangles and figure 8s. I burnt my hand on fire pit Wed night so I didn’t throw but 4 times till blister got too soft. Didn’t want to rip it.

pulled a half cooler before they shut down. Hard staying in muddy water. Size all over the place, but it was probably 75% small.

Visiting my parents in Bluffton this weekend. Planning to bring the nets with me and try to take them out. They’ve never been shrimping (new to the area) and I live in eastern NC. Anyone willing to share anymore specifics? What depth, What to look for, tides, anything helps. I really appreciate anything y’all have to offer. Feel free to PM me if you like

I went by Crosby's today and the large shrimp were $14.99/lb, heads off. The gal working the counter said their first boat since Dorian came in yesterday.
I'm headed to Edisto this weekend for some shrimping...see how it goes.

Tried deep in the harbor last eve, but really high tide wasn't helping us. Got 3 quarts heads off, but really weren't all that serious. May try to bait shrimp Sunday with a buddy...
