They’re all good. Might have a hard time finding one with availability so that will probably determine who you fish with.

Consider the Marlin Gull out of Pirates Cove. Kenny will put you on the fish. As mentioned above, finding an open boat may be tough but he would be my first choice.

Sea Breeze out of Oregon Inlet. Capt Ned and mate, George, have been together 14 years. Would be my first choice. Smoker would be my second. You can check availability for your dates on the Oregon inlet fishing center website

Jaime on the Phideaux out of OBX Marina. Him and his brother Jeff are great good ole OBX boys, chill and can fish.

Lots of good boats there. Never been on the boat but I've heard over and over the Fishin Frenzy is top notch.

It’s already been posted but I’ll second Kenny Midget on the Marlin Gull.

Al's Gal, is AWESOME!! Capt. Roger Parker, is a native of the area and has been fishing those waters for 40+ years.

Don't know about the Oregon Inlet boats. But was out with Captain Chris on Predator out of Hatteras this spring and the boat was filled with fish when we got back. They were great with my kids which are 5, 8 and 10 and have never been offshore fishing. Bill the boats owner is on here also.

Small world I don’t live to far from hatteras and sat next to the owner of predators brother on a plane to Orlando. Seemed like a nice guy and talked fishing most of the flight.

I have fished on Sea-Note and High Return. Experience on High Return was not so great. Experience on Sea-Note was pretty good. Some excellent recommendations given above. Smoker would probably be my first choice followed by True Grit if I had to fish out of the fishing center. I would be inclined to book Doghouse out of OBX marina if available and if not forced to go out of OIFC. Top choice for Pirates Cove boats would be Cpt. Jeff Ross with Obsession. Some of the variants would depend on how serious you are about fishing and what your target specie is. Some Captains are more specialized than others if you are wanting to do something special other than drag baits all day for tuna/dolphin.

Its hard to give a recommendation other than personality if you have only fished a boat once or twice. Its fishing, even though they get paid to do it there are days the fish are just not there. All the guys at OI are great captains as I know pretty much all of them. Book a trip and hope for good weather, then enjoy yourself.

Thanks for the kind words! We strive to make sure our charter customers have the best time possible!!! If you want to make the drive to Hatteras (much shorter run to the fishing grounds), we'll look forward to adding you to our long list of happy customers!!! Drop me a PM, email or call... Thanks! Bill

How about boats off of Ocracoke? Will some of these guys come down and pick people up from there? Looking at planning a charter out of there in the fall.
