Default Little River report 5-20-19

Cleared the jetties and headed up the beach looking for pogies. Found an acre of them off Ocean Isle Pier in 23' of water. They were a little small but fishable. We headed to the Sherman and King fished an hour or so with no love and decided to anchor up and try to chum up a Cobia. no luck.. Saw lots of boats headed towards the Jungle. We left and went to the 90's. Got bit putting the lines out and stayed hooked up the rest of the day. This has to be one of the best king bites I have seen in many years. JB got his thumb blistered 2-3 times putting the lines out. Caught undersized sea bass on the down rigger and caught 2 at the same time on the long line, one on each hook. Crazy.. one king in the low 20's, the rest 12-18 lbs. One big Spanish @ 6 lbs.
We had JB's friend out celebrating his 16th birthday, my older son Dylan's girlfriend and a great

friend from my Marine Corps days when we were door gunners in Iraq.
Thank you Lord for blessing us with another great, safe day on Mother Ocean!

We saw you out there Sunday. Bite was a little slower for us but we were pulling cigars and they weren’t top quality either. Caught about a dozen but had quite a few small fish. Seemed to pick up later in the morning as we were leaving.

Good stuff!! Thanks for your service to this country! We tore them up at the 90s last week. The bite is truly addicting for somebody who mainly tournament live bait fishes. Glad your crew got some rods bent!
