Default Is this a Spanish or King Mackerel?

Hi everyone - great fishing day yesterday off Masonboro Inlet with my dad. Quick question...is this a small Spanish Mackerel or just a very small King Mack? The whole time I thought this was a Spanish. But relooking at the pic, I don’t see the coloring I’d typically see from a Spanish.

What do do you think?

that’s funny. Sorry about that! Sometimes pic upload from your iPhone to THT; and sometimes they don’t. Don’t know why...confusing.

Looks like a small atlantic bonito to me (which is a member of the mackerel family).

Although I have never eaten it, I've heard they are pretty good.

Yep, Atlantic Bonito. Not king or Spanish. Neither one has those stripes.

They’re very good. That was the first fish I ever ate while while we were filleting them.

If it has sharp looking teeth, it is an Atlantic bonito and good to eat. If it doesn’t, it’s a false albacore and great for bait.
