Could you hang 4s on this hull without modifications?

I have seen several 2002 27 opens with 4 strokes on them, so I am assuming it can.. even a few '97's and '99's with them on.. in 2006 Contender modified the 27 hull to account for four strokes. Maybe a call to Contender to verify would be the best way to go on that question.

The 200 HPDIs and I-4 200 4-strokes are widely accepted as the best power for the hull.

You can put 4-strokes on these (250-300), with wedges. But some people have reported “wet feet” due to excess weight with these. Avoid the Verado (too heavy).

If the new Mercury 225 V6 4-stokes (485 lb) are all that they are cracked up to be, they would be an excellent choice for this model as well (released to public in next couple weeks).

I have a 96 version of this hull, great all around boat. Good luck with sale if you decide to let it go.
