Default 2001 Contender 25/28 2016 Suzuki 200aps

2001 Contender 25/28
2016 Suzuki 200ap's warranty until 2022
1245 total hours on the boat, 245 on the Suzukis

Just to get this out of the way...
*bottom paint - Micron 66*
*original tank - 185 gallons*
*no trailer*

Added from 2015 until now...
Suzuki 200ap's $32,000
Powers Electronic Box $700
Grey Vinyl top $700
Seadek Bolster pads $2,200 (Dec 2017)
Simrad Nss 9 evo 2 $2,300
Simrad Nss 7 evo 2 $1,300
Fusion UD650 $500
Wetsounds HT4 $500
Wetsounds 808's $400
Wetsounds Revo 6's $300
Icom M324g $200
VHF 8' antenna $250
Seastar ram $450
House group 24/ACR/Swtich
8 gemlux latches $400
All hatch gaskets $100
4 gas shocks hatches $200
New Windsheild. $450

$42,950 in motors, electronics, and accessories installed. That is just cost, no labor considered which have been easily $5,000 plus.

Currently have 12' of under gunwale LED's on each side installed but not wired.
Replacement livewell pump, shurflo fill valve, overflow and bottom drain not installed yet as well as an LED front spreader and LED overhead light. I've replaced darn near everything on this boat.

I have console, leaning post, and motor covers.

Boat is dirtier than I want it to be right now do to road construction and needs to be waxed. Unfortunately I lost my roof, all trees and fences, and had a baby all during Irma on September 10th. I've been busy. It is currently on my lift behind the house.

What it will need in the future in my opinion... the leaning post vinyl seats need to be redone, the livewell lid could be replaced as well as the hinges. After that you really can't replace much else on this boat.

All lights, pumps, switches, trim tabs work. There is an AP11 autopilot that worked until disconnected and is now throwing an error. Someone with time and knowledge could get it to work. Or you can remove the controller, replace the computer and run the autopilot from the Simrads as the pump is still in great shape. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

Located in Key West, asking $74,000 obo

Sale contingent on another boat purchase which I’m confident in but things could happen.

GLWS. I have a 2001 Contender as well with the same autopilot and what sounds like the same problem. Getting a code for “datacomm fail”. What numbers are you getting with the Suzuki 200ap’s? Im looking into the same repower but I have a 27 Open

Thank you.

50 - 53 mph top end. Almost never drop below 2.1 on any day trip running 33 - 37 mph. Usually more in the 2.2 - 2.3 range.

Overnight to Tortugas, 5 guys, 400 pounds of ice, set up for Spearfishing, ~ 180 miles 99 gallons.

3 day trip to tortugas, 4 guys, 600 plus pounds of ice, main hold full, full fish bag, 2 coolers, propane grill, etc. etc. ~ 240 miles 130 gallons even.

Seems like Someone will be getting a solid boat soon.
I am Doing the same repower February 20 at international marine . castro can you tell me how much you pay for cuping your propellers? I am a little nervous because steve wants me to put the 3 blades he said that is what they always put. but after reading your repower thread I decided to follow exactly what you do. Any suggestion?
Thank you.

Thanks. I paid $10 a blade. I tell people now run the 24’s stock for a little while. Depending on load you may not want cup, especially loaded heavy. I know 3 people who tried 3 blade Suzuki props and all got rid of them from blowing out too much. I know one friend that stuck with the 3 blade on a single Suzuki but he got the prop cupped to keep it grabbing.

I hate to go against the recommendation of Steve as everyone at international marine has been great to me. I just went with the experience of the boaters here locally. Ask them if you dont put too many hours if you can swap them.

Also, the Suzuki 4 blades lift the stern a lot and stick the boat to the water. A great adjustment for this hull.

Thank you. Yes very nice people at international marine
That is what I was planning to do. Running the propellers untouched at the beginning. But I will probably have to cup then because I don't have to many boating friends am probably wil be running ligh most of the time.

I think you have that boat priced at a great price. Even for smarts guys that want to buy a 25 and repower it will be difficult to impossible to stay under that amount. Taking in consideration all the upgrades and time required to do it.
