Default Lang 28 Down East FB Cruiser REDUCED

LADY LOUISE/ SOLD
Cotuit, Ma
Lang Fiberglass Down East Flybridge Cruiser
LOA: 28’ Beam: 12’ Displacement 10,500 lbs
Water 35 gallons; Fuel 50 gallons; Holding tank 40 gallons
81. Liter Crusader gas engine New 2006 (500 hours)

GENERAL
Lady Louise was built in Rockport Maine in 1971 by Lang Yachts. She is a heavily laid up solid glass hull in the Down East tradition. The family of 4 have cruised her through out the Cape and Islands since taking ownership in 1996. After 18 Years of satisfied ownership they have decided to move up. She is a solid, sea-kindly vessel with a classic down east look; an excellent family cruiser and fishing boat. The main salon is spacious with dinette (seats 4) and a couch that folds out to a double berth and 6’2” head room throughout. Forward cabin has an oversized berth and enclosed head. The step down galley has 2 burner alcohol stove and SS sink with hot/cold pressure water. The cockpit is roomy enough for 4 deck chairs, and has rod holders for fishing. There is a h/c cockpit shower.

ELECTRONICS
Standard Horizon VHF with DCS capability; Garmin 541s chartplotter wired for both stations, depth sounder, compasses up and down.

UPGRADES
2004: New bimini
2006: Factory new Crusader engine, transmission and control panels, Morse controls (main and flybridge), hydraulic steering, completely re-wired with new breaker panel, 40 gallon holding tank with ‘Y’ valve, St. Croix davits.
2010: New canvas flybridge cover and window covers
2013: Stuffing box overhauled and repacked
2014: New risers, starter battery, belts, New stereo and speakers.

EQUIPMENT
Fortress anchor w/ 25’ chain and 300’ ½”rode; second danforth with 15’ chain and 150’ rode; 2 fire extinguishers; docklines, fenders, boathook; teak swim platform w/ fold down ladder

Lady Louise is 100% mechanically solid and ready for many family vacations or fishing trips. Owners are moving up but seeking a good home for her. Please don’t be fooled the 1971 vintage. With her professionally installed 454 Crusader engine and transmission with only 500 hours, new electrical panel and 18 years of constant up grades this yacht makes a great entry into a bigger family boat. Owners are moving up but seeking a good home for her. If you’re interested at all, please make a point to see her now.
They have made the decision to move up and they are anxious to have offers and are very willing to talk.

REDUCED TO $9999.00

I love this! It's a really neat boat.
Is the head in the forepeak, and the berth off to the starboard side? What are the estimated dimensions of that berth?
Can you give us a ballpark cruising and top end speed for this setup?

I assume you are the broker, right?

Thanks!

Jim

Jim,
Running this for my brother who asked for my help. I'll get the info you requested tomorrow.
It is an really neat boat and is an amazing package for someone with a small budget. A great family boat for someone looking to overnite, cruise and fish.

Jim,
The head is in the forepeak. The bunk measures 74" long x 41" wide. Her top speed is about 18 knots with a cruise around 14-15 knots. I'll have some additional pictures tomorrow

Looks like a well cared for boat. What is the fuel burn at cruise? Any pictures of engine?

Do you have any pictures of her out of the water so we can see the running gear ? Thanks.

No pic's of her out of the water but I found a picture of a sister ship in a lobster setup and an original brochure which shows a profile of sorts. Also included a picture of the engine.

50 Gallons it is. Not a canyon boat but for 18 years she did the Cape and Islands without a problem. I'm sure if desired there is room somewhere for another tank.

At 15 knot cruise she burns around 19-20 gallons an hour and a slower speed you can extend her range.

Still an amazing package for 10 grand or best offer

I am a little surprised that a 8.1 MPI Crusader (385hp) is burning 19-20gph at 15kts. At 19-20gph the engine should be turning 3650-3700rpm. What is the RPM at WOT, should be in the 4400 to 4800 range. Could she be over or under prop'ed ? What is the gear ratio of the transmission ?

Love the lay out of this boat and I am sure additional tankage could be added. But she is a long ways from me.

Default I have one of these.... 27 foot 1971

Best fishing boat on the Chesapeake Bay. I am looking to get rid of it, but she needs a lot lot lot of work. I have a chrysler 225 and dual 50 gal tanks.
just sayin.
