Thumbs up Price Reduced! - Rare 17' Classic 1971 Boston Whaler Menemsha

Located in Charleston, SC, this is a piece of Boston Whaler history. The "Menemsha" model was produced between 1968 and 1972. Only about 230 were ever made.

Likely one of the nicest and most original Menemshas available today, this boat features original hardware, original brightwork, original switches, and original class.

Neat features of this model include gullwing hatch doors, interior benches with pop-up table, and even a working head!

Your tunes play through an added 100W Shark audio amp w/ 2 weatherproof speakers.

Also includes beige Bimini top, custom blue canvas snap on cover (covers open area from windshield to transom), universal marine grade nylon boat cover (covers bow-to-stern), 12 gallon fuel tank, anchor, battery, and two life jackets.

Trailer is included and is in great shape. New hubs, bearing buddies, and brand new tires. Ready for the long haul.

The motor is a 1992 Force 150HP. A recent servicing (April 2014) was done including a complete carburetor rebuild. She hums along nicely. Very quick at WOT.

This boat is a real head turner. To the Whaler aficionado, this Menemsha is the ultimate addition. I get stopped with questions and curiosity every time I am at the boat landing.

New Pictures added. For even more pictures, and videos of the motor in action, visit classicwhaler.weebly.com.

What an odd but cool boat. Can you run it with the doors open at all? Good luck with the sale!

Awesome collectors item. Ugly as sin, but that's what makes this boat so cool.

I hope to have one some day.

I thought I knew Whalers fairly well. Apparently not. That is one interesting vessel. Here is a link to a sister boat that gives some more shots of the overall layout. I hope this helps with the sale.

Cool rig for sure. If you haven't already done so I'd post it on continuous wave.

Quick question. WOT is 30mph w/ a 150?

I posted on Continuous Wave a little while back. I clocked the boat around 28 knots at near WOT. No need to put the throttle to the floor with this one.
