Default REDUCED AGAIN TO $12,900 1999 Kencraft 206 w/ 150 Opti

Selling my 1999 Kencraft 206 with 150 Opti. I'm the second owner. Bought it from the original owner in spring 2003.

$12,900. Boat is located in northeastern Orlando. Sea trials for serious buyers.

Please note that this is NOT a project boat, NOT a re-power, and does NOT need tlc. This is a solid, well-maintained, ready-to-fish, offshore capable boat for under $13,000. The only thing not working is the trailer brakes.

As you’ll find if you do a little research on the forum, this manufacturer in general and this hull in particular enjoy very good reputations. It’s heavily built and has a solid, substantial feel you don’t find in a lot of smaller glass boats. Absolutely zero cracking after 14 years.

Ride is exceptional for a boat this size, particularly in a head-sea, provided you tab that big, sharp entry down (tabs are basically mandatory on this hull). Boat also floats nice and high. The transom is open, but I’ve never had any issue with water coming over it, even drifting stern-to in a wide variety of offshore conditions. Water on deck drains quickly and completely—no standing water in the cockpit, even with three adults aft of the console.

Boat tops out around 38 mph with two adults and a half-tank of fuel, give or take, and cruises very comfortably at 28 mph and 4,000 rpm at 4+ mpg.

In terms of condition, the boat is 14 years old, and it doesn’t look new. The vinyl is discolored in places, there are a few scratches in the boot stripe, and the engine cowling is sun-faded. That said, it's in great shape for a 14-year-old boat, and all systems function well.

Bottom-line, you won't find more offshore capability than this for the money.

Full custom cover, tear on port side where rod holder wore through
Cushions on leaning post and seat in front of console, plus coaming bolsters all in decent condition—not pretty but not torn either
Fold-down aluminum footrest on leaning post

Trailer

4 new tires in May 2013
2 spare tires with covers
Surge brakes non-functional, need to be replaced, although boat tows and stops fine with full-size pickup

Definitely the best I've ever been on. This isn't an easy decision--always thought I'd just re-power when the time came and keep her indefinitely. But unfortunately offshore fishing just doesn't fit into my life right now with young kids and an hour's drive to the water, and I know a smaller boat will mean more time on the water.

GLWS... Love it! very capable boats for the size category with tons of storage. Personally think they have a pretty dry ride as well. If somebody trials it, they'll love it.

Thanks for all the comments. Good to see all the other 206/210s. Hope to have time at lunch today (Thursday) to get by the yard and take some pics, check hour meter, etc. If not, then weekend latest. Busy week, and it's too dark by the time I'm out of work.

Headed north up the ICW Saturday evening after a day in Mosquito Lagoon. Solid, versatile, dependable boat. Willing to consider offers.

That's a great boat. Had one just like it. Same model year, in fact, and also had the Merc power, and same T-top. Here in Delaware, it was our "in-shore, buzzing the bays, and also our "take to the Keys" boat. Wife wanted a pontoon boat for the grandkids. So we sold it and bought the 'toon. Then she says we never should have sold it! Great boat.

Couple of flats boats on the market now that I'm really interested in, but I need to sell the Kencraft first. Make me an offer! This is a LOT of boat for the money, ready to head offshore tomorrow.
