Why wouldn't he charge for a $5k voucher? If I were looking to buy a new Contender, I'd be willing to put something towards this to take $5k of my purchase.

Need to see how it works. Another person tried to sell me one saying it worked no matter what but Contender said different. It was off msrp which would have been worse than what dealer was selling boat for.

I agree, I have no idea, I have seen were they are selling up to 60-70% of the value. My boat is two years old so I don't need one.

They are fully transferable. I bought one back in 09 when I bought my 27T. The $5k is taken off whatever price you negotiate with the dealer. You don't even have to tell them you plan to use it when you negotiate the deal. Work the best deal you can and present the gift certificate when you are signing the paperwork. As good as cash from your perspective.

This is not true any more. I had a $7500 certificate that I used in '09. Back then, contender credited the dealer the amount of the certificate when invoicing the dealer. These new certificates are worthless. They must be presented before you "shop" and the dealer gets no help from contender. I am a proud contender owner but the new certificates are shameful on contenders part. Contender is putting no skin in the game, and the winner of the certificate is getting screwed.

I was recently shopping new Contenders and had negotiated a price with the dealer. I then informed the dealer that I had access to a $10K voucher from Contender that I would be applying as well. The dealer informed me that the voucher was off of MSRP only (the price I had negotiated was way less than $10k off MSRP). The vouchers are worthless. At one time they may of had value but in todays market they do not.

Wow...that really sucks. I had an awesome experience when we used ours. Nothing like spending $1k to make $5k. Sorry about the bad advice. I assumed it was the same deal as 3 years ago. Cant believe Contender would make a change like that.

Jeffery, I would suggest reading the fine print on the voucher. The voucher I had access to specifically stated (in fine print) that the voucher was to be appllied to MSRP. If yours reads differently, perhaps there is value.

I agree that I have a worthless piece of paper, however there are going to be several on the market that can be applied together that may save some one some money. Mine will be cheap and there are numerous $10000.00 out there that will be offered, If you buy mine and two of the others you may benefit.

A damn good question. And as far as using several of them together, I'm guessing there is the old "one coupon per customer per purchase" limiting laguage. Void where prohibited, blah blah blah. I wish someone would post one up so we could all see it.
