Default ***SOLD****Contender 27 for sale, 2010 power with warranty/reduced 8/21

FOR SALE.....redefining TURN KEY! My boat is a 1999 27 contender open. I am the 2nd owner and have owned it for since 2007. It is loaded to the gills....I often fish far offshore so everything is kept up to date and in new condition. I just bought a new REEL EXTREME trailer in May. Its a 12,000lb 16" wheels, torsion axle, stainless everything. I was not planning on selling when i ordered the trailer, it will be great for a long time.

Now the boat....I repowered in July 2010 with SUZUKI 175's. They have 4 years warranty remaining and have not had any issues (300 hrs, warranty through 7/16). They are the "PERFECT' power for this boat. Cruise 30-35 getting 2mpg, sometimes better. Top end was 48 mph by myself, but more realistically 45-46 with a crew. Yes, It will plane on 1 motor up to mid-high 20's, I fish the bahamas all the time with full fuel, 5 guys, all of our gear and lots of ice. I had 250hpdi's on the boat before in case you were wondering....and it had 200hp ox66's when i bought the boat. But these zuke's are my favorite by far.
Other notable items on boat: furuno vx1 10" 6'-4kw open array, cmd5 clairon, 4 jl audio 6.5 speakers (3 months old), sitex bottom finder, spray curtains, underwater LED's, 3 bluetop optima batteries (new in 3/12), full custom cover (ive use it rarely because the boat is kept under a pole barn.....

$61,000 obo......Located in lake worth, FL.....email me at ddd6581@gmail.com or pm or call 561-386-1561

Maybe not so bad... the zuke 200 4stroke on my boat (23' pro line) is more powerful than the 225hp ox66 it replaced. May have lost some top end but it has a better holeshot and will cruise at 24kts with over 3 nmpg

My 250hpdis always wanted to "run up", the boat really wouldnt plane under 30mph. I can plan at 24-25mph with the zukes, which is a good speed when in the snotty stuff.
I've run 27's with merc 200's, 225's, yamaha 200 ox66's, 200hpdi's, 250hpdi's, and F225's. To each is his own....They all handle different in their own respective way. The zukes are the "best all around" which is what i was looking for. They are inline 4 cylinders so they spin up fast, literally sip fuel at idle or trolling speeds. They swing a 16' diameter 23" pitch prop which gives great control around the docks and in all sea conditions. They don't run over 50mph, but that was a pill I was gladly willing to swallow. I wanted my boat setup for longrange cruising to fishing grounds. Very rarely am i able to go comfortably over 35mph in the ocean. They are lightweight, VERY quite, no smoke, no oil to add in the console any more =

200 gallons in 3 tanks- 1-100g and 2-50g's. Depending on load and sea conditions, close to 400 miles. I never push it to the last drop, always better to take on an extra 40g or so as a security blanket if you think your going to be close

Is the 99 hull the same hull through 2008? i think thats when the 27t came out but may be mistaken. Also, the hull is completely composite no wood stringers, etc?

Yes....1996-2007 or 2008 were the same mold. The only differences were minor changes (ie deck latches, an american flag after the contender decal) I think they added some more flotation in the transom once the heavy v6 fourstrokes came out.

I updated the deck latch's to the nice gemlux ones instead of the cheap perko plastic latch

As far as the wood...i am not sure. No where that i have drilled has had any wood.

Very nice boat, good luck with the sale. Are you sure the warranty is transferable?
