Default 2001 Scout Dorado 202 Dual Console - Testing the waters

I am getting my Scout ready for sale. In doing so, the bottom paint has started to lift off of the hull. Lacking any other alternative, I have begun stripping the hull of all of the old bottom paint.

I have tested a method of removing the last remnants and polishing the hull, and compared that, in my head, to sanding with 80 grit and painting a fresh coat of bottom paint on. It's splitting hairs in favor of the bottom paint.

However, I always hear about how bottom paint hurts the value, or some people won't even consider a boat with bottom paint.

So while I finish removing the old, I thought I'd throw it out there to see if there's any interest at all in this boat, and if so, with or without bottom paint.

Honda BF130 4-stroke.
Dual Battery
Washdown
Bimini
Back to back lounge seat

I have a tandem axle aluminum trailer for it. I would prefer to keep the trailer as it is oversized and the whole reason I am selling is to get a bigger Dorado. This trailer is the right size for that boat. However, everything is negotiable.

If you're interested, PM me. Between Easter and spring break, I am about a week away before I start painting.

Regarding the comment about bottom paint and some people will not even consider a boat with bottom paint, I do not think the bottom paint is the issue, I think that because a boat has bottom paint then the presumption is the boat has sat in water which is the issue. But I could be wrong.

Paint on gel coat will take out some buyers. A clean bottom will not take out any buyers. Therefore, clean hulls have more prospective buyers = more demand = higher price or at least value.

Bottom paint or not that is one sweet looking Scout. Scout's are great boats and after you own one you know they are a quality boat.
