Trojan F32 with Twin Cummins 6BTA diesels
#1

We are forced to sell our beloved Trojan F32 because my wife has battled cancer for 7.5 years and has now lost the use of her left arm. We are downsizing to an older Montauk 17 that I am restoring.
We have owned Viva Mahia (slang for "Celebrate the Mahi") since 2005, and keep her here at our dock, where we have done a lot of upgrades over the years. We will miss her...

Over 3,000 Trojan F32s were made, and all were originally gas engines. We know of four that have been re-powered with diesels, and this is the only one we know of with Cummins (others were 2 Volvos and a Cat).
The Cummins 6BTA is one of the most popular and reliable diesels ever built, and they both start every time and run perfect. With 1:1 transmissions, we turn a 17x20 Nibral prop and run up to 28 knots, with cruise at 500RPM idle at 8knots, she is super economical - about 2 miles/gallon total.

Nice boat. I know of another diesel. My buddy is the original owner of one from 1977. he repowered it to diesel on his last repower. It is powered by Mercury Diesels and it too runs like a bat out of hell at about 30 knots. You can see it running around on Middle River in Essex Md. Blue canvas.
Caught tons of fish on that boat. Going out again next week.

Yes, they are the orginal rudders.
Work great.
In close to the dock, the twin diesels are your ally...
Offshore, they work great.
Thanks for looking.

How many hours on the gen set? Gas or diesel?
Most of the windows appear to be leaking, is that the case?
Port side voltage is low, has that been investigated?
Are the cockpit pics SINCE the paint job?
Was the name painted on when the transom was done?
I'm not bashing your vessel, I am looking for a boat to add to my charter fleet and just want to know what I might be getting into

Answers to questions:
- Twin Cummins® 6BTA-5.9 turbo-diesels, 225HP each, serviced in February 2020, 2 hours since service, Port: 885 hours, Starboard: 887 hours.
- Onan® 3.0MDJA diesel generator, no hour meter.
- Voltage on port is OK, probably needs new gauge.
- Name on transom is a stick-on decal, so it can be removed with heat gun (transom always sits north at dock, so letters are not baked on).
- Boat located in Charleston, SC.
- Cockpit photos with Rods in place was PRE paint. All white Awlgrip now.
