Default SOLD - Pursuit 2870 Center Console - Reduced!!! $38,000

1999 Pursuit 2870 Center Console
I am the second owner of this boat and it is in excellent condition, and an extremely fishable boat. At 30' LOA with a 9'6" beam and a 22 degree dead rise, it is a huge and stable fishing platform.

The boat is powered with twin 2003 Yamaha F225s. The motors are in excellent running condition, and have had exhausts midsections replaced, along with oil pumps and cranks sleeved. The counter motor has a 3yo Yamaha factory lower. The motors have just crossed 1800 hours, but except for a low pressure fuel pump on the starboard motor, I have had no issues with them at all. The hours are the only reason I have priced the boat so low, but I honestly believe that they will serve someone well for quite some time into the future.

Cosmetically the boat is in excellent condition. The gel coat shines like new, and the boat features a custom fiberglass hard top with a 3' aluminum tube structure that gives it a much more modern appearance than the normal Pursuit of this era. The aluminum and other brightwork shine, and the only cosmetic flaw is the white powder coat is peeling from the head door access in the console. There is a relatively new 3 piece phone booth enclosure on the console and additional wings that extend to the gunwale, for cold weather fishing.

Electronics updated in 2018, including:
  • 7" Simrad Evo 3
  • 9" Simrad S2009 Commercial Fishfinder
  • Standard Horizon Explorer VHF
  • Shakespeare 5225XT antenna
  • Furuno LCD radar works excellent
  • Three batteries, with a built in 3 bank charger.
Other highlights:
  • Double rigged lay down outriggers
  • Penn Fathom Master Electric Down rigger with additional rod holder and 12v plug on port stern corner
  • GOOD Automatic F850A Free Fall Windlass with 500' of rode. Drop anchor on the spot with the push of a button.
From a performance standpoint the boat is very economical for a big center console. With a typical fishing load, 5 guys and 3/4 tank of fuel, I cruise at between 4000-4200 RPM, making 28kts and showing a burn of 18-20gph on the Yamaha Gauge. Worst case economy is 1.6mpg loaded. (However, it is better than that, because the Yamaha fuel management gauge is over reporting usage by nearly 14% per fill up. (For example, If the gauge shows 100 gallons used, I am filling the tank with 85-86 gallons at the pump.) The boat is propped with Stainless Yamaha 19" SWS II, and I am making 5800 rpm at the top end.

The bottom is painted, but it was soda blasted in November 2017. Two coats of epoxy barrier coat were added, followed by one hard coat of blue anti-fouling as a signal coat, then 2 coats of Black Micron CSC Multi-season Ablative. It is a smooth, fast and clean bottom.

I will add a list of standard Features from Pursuit:
  • 235 Gallons of Fuel. Two tanks, plumbed so that either motor can run off either tank or both.
  • 20 gallon Fresh water tank
  • 20 gallon holding tank for head
  • Forward seating with rod storage behind the seat backs.
  • Deep storage compartments under the forward seats. (Seat cushions for all)
  • Cooler seat in front of console.
  • Enclosed head with China head and freshwater sink.
  • 30 gallon circulating live well with led and freshwater sink built into leaning post
  • Tackle storage boxes in leaning post as well as in transom
  • Large fish box in transom, with raw water sink, removable cutting board
  • Huge macerated fish box in floor of cockpit.
  • Recessed Bennet Trim Tabs
I've tried to capture everything, but I'm sure I missed something. It is a great boat that would definitely stay a part of the fleet if it was a little more conducive to trailering. The boat is in water and ready for sea trials.

I think I have this priced very competitively considering the overall condition, the updates, and the hours on the motors. There is no trailer included.

As for trades, I would be open to a 23-25' single engine center console, Parker style pilot house or 18’+ Flats boat of similar value, or less value plus cash.

Priced reduced. Do a quick search on Boats.com or Yachtworld. You will not find any nicer 28'-30' Center Console for under $40,000 anywhere.

This is an excellent boat with reliable 4 stroke power. A great way to step up into a true offshore fishing machine.

I am still open to trades for a smaller single engine center console, pilot house or an 18'+ flats boat.

Things are moving quickly! Our house sold way faster than I expected and I would like to sell this boat before I leave the area. Someone will be getting an amazing deal.

Looking to close a deal by the first week of November.
