Default Cable to digital controls

Just had a new tower and second station installed in Sportsman 247 with Yamaha 250. Has older cable controls and used a sea star mechanism to link the throttle from upper to the lower. Not sure what or how but itís a mechanical system inside the console. The throttle is extremely stiff and Iím being to,d thatís the best itís going to get due to the cable linkage. Itís totally unacceptable to me. Anyone have experience with this system and if so can it be better? Also both key switches have to be in the on position for the boat to start, is that correct? Last thing, what type of cost could be expected to swap both to digital controls if the cable mechanism cannot be improved? Thanks for the help. I can get more specifics tomorrow

did you use the highest cables from sea star? think it is the cx series. They highly recommend them. I am going through this now and trying to figure out if digital is the way to go.

Just dropped the boat off to the mechanic at my marina. Seems pretty confident he can improve the throttle cable issue. I’ll update when it’s done. If still
