2006 290 coastal, can't fill at reasonable flow fuel keeps backing up out the fill. System appears to have vent in fill line. Ran snake thru to tank did not appear to have any obstructions. Boat runs fine no fuel starvation. Have to fill extremely slow and the dock attendant gets VERY ANNOYED. Any owners out there with same problem, did you solve it? How?

Blow into the gas tank fill opening, same place you pump gas into. I used my mouth over the opening and blow out air. Don't have to actually contact the opening with your lips, but you do have to get real close.

Check the vent line from tank to filler. Over time the line most likely sagged somewhere and there is now a belly in the line. When the tank is full some fuel will enter the vent line and prevent normal filling. I had the same problem on my '99 Aquasport. Motor ran great, just couldn't fill at normal rate. I check the vent line and removed approximately 6" of vent line and haven't had a problem since.

Inless you get rid of the collection point, sag, downward loop, the fix is temporary.
Once upon a time mfg put a loop in the vent tube to slow fuel getting out of the vent. Or to make installation easier.
That loop was often down ward.
Once that was corrected, it all worked.
Trying to get the last drop into the tank does not help.
Get rid of the pool of gas somewhere in the line.
