You're doing a fine job maxie, keep up the good work!

Here's a bow shot anita fish, the least I could do since you're the reason we raised the shear!

Also one of the 20, its Alexseal Lagoon Blue metallic not Bermuda.

Your safe holy smoke, yours doesnt say Seacraft on the side

Bill, I'd be curious to see if or how the sheer shape changed with the additional height. Any chance you can get a side profile shot? By the way, that blue on the 20' is absolutely gorgeous.

We were going to try a broken shear but couldnt get it to look right so just smoothed it down some.

That's 1700 Dave, two layers. 1/4" radius is about all it will turn.

Yeah, he's not so mythical when he's trying to wake you up at 3 am though, other adjectives come to mind. He was bored, our latest 8 werk old Chesapeake puppy wouldmt wake up to play so he was watching daddy and wondering what he was doing.

Later while we were ripping for on the tablesaw they thought the shavings were great and we were just making a playground for them!

As wide as the platform on that bracket is we figured it might help save that almost impossible to repair metallic! I know I'm guilty of accidentally rubbing a bracket on a piling once or twice

We ordered the 60' kit of that "new" Taco semi-rigid flex core vinyl so we'd have enough extra for the bracket. Amazingly the 60' kit plus the 60' of real 3/4" stainless rubrail that finishes it was still cheaper than a kit of the standard black rubrail with the rubber tube insert! The semi rigid was also better than trying to heat/stretch the softer stuff around (which often ends up wavy after it gets out in the sun).

Just got the new rubrail nav LED's in this week for her that match the 3/4" stainless profile. I'll post a pic when we get them installed.

Bill Iím going to be doing the same rub rail on my Mako. I used the semi rigid stuff on a Whaler I redid but it had a vinyl insert. Are there any tricks to getting the bends in the stainless hollow back around the bow and stern?

In the past we'd carve out a matching radius with a male shape of the hollow back to pre bend it around but this semi-rigid rubrail has the same shape and was hard enough to bend it in place without kinking. Of course you've got to make sure there's no screw holes in the bend and go gently, working it around. We used dead blow hammers and wooden blocks to persuade it and they did just fine!

A heat gun was also necessary to bend the vinyl around those tight corners. Low and slow heating to heat it all the way through before you start!

With the extra chine it would have to be a two piece mold but it could definitely be done. If I had a couple hundred lying around for a mold set and knew for sure I could sell a hundred or so boats out of it to pay for it, maybe. I think I'll go sweep up the shop and see what I can find!
