Default Forum Re-Named to Honor Kerno's Memory

As many of you already know, TheHullTruth.com community lost a well respected member whose loss will never be able to be replaced. Kerno was a true boater’s boater. He was a fixture on this forum for many years; always willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow member. We invite anyone to do a search of his posts and we are confident you will see that they were helpful, detailed and informative. He would often reach out to members, old and new, to offer his advice, his suggestions, and the wisdom of his experience. He was a perfectionist and a true engineer/machinist. His own boats were never finished. He would constantly improve upon them with workmanship that was nothing short of breathtaking. He was innovative, he was thorough and he thought things through while never forgetting future serviceability. However, his greatest gift was that he would share his knowledge and experience universally. He also served as a Moderator on this forum for many years and handled that task with the same grace and aplomb. Those of us who knew him, whether in person or just online, are all better human beings as a result. This forum, where fellow members share ideas and generally help each other is the perfect forum to bear his namesake and we can think of no honor more deserving. This forum will now be known as:

Boating How-To’s : The Kerno Memorial Forum.

We will miss him.

Sincerely,

Bravo!

Never met him, but did read much that he contributed. Fitting tribute.

I haven't been here long but I would like to commend THT for such a gracious tribute to a fallen member. My condolences go out to his family and friends. I hope those that were very familiar with him will link some of his knowledge in threads where they will be helpful!

Great idea! A very fitting tribute to someone who was exceptionally helpful both as a contributor and as MOD 4.

New to the forum but literally read my first "Kerno" thread today - I can see why he was so admired! Sounds like a genuinely great man - may each of us be as humble and generous with our knowledge.

Kern was a great guy to know, wish I knew a small portion of what he forgot. He certainly reached out to help a lot of people like my self. You never had any doubts about Kerno's advice you could take it to the bank. He was an outstanding machinist who readily shared his knowledge with everyone who needed his help.

I was going through my boating thumb drive photos and saw this photo from someone else that I copied and tried to straighten and clean up a bit years ago.
It's the only photo I have seen of him.
Thought it would be best suited to leave here with the above post.
Hope that is OK.
