Default Installing a remote transom mounted trim switch

I was able to get the boat home and get mine installed today.

Is that a drain you mounted it below?

It sure is a drain from the main deck at the helm area and the storage compartment above it. There had to be a better spot to mount it and still be able to chase the wires into engine room.

I'm also somewhat confused that you went to all that detailed effort and then mounted the switch directly beneath a drain hole... 2 inches to starboard and you would have been perfect.

At least put a bead of caulk around it, tape both sides and get a nice clean application.

Yes it is the drain hole for the transom locker. It's sealed nicely and I believe will experience more water from rain or conditions that whatever comes out of that hole.
