I have just purchased a 2014 Scout 245 Dorado. I am trying to test and clean my manual head with pump out so I can clean it out before I winterize my boat. How can I get cleaning liquids in the system that pumps its raw water from the the body of water when I'm running my boat? I would like to clean from on end of the system to the other. Maybe I'm missing the obvious. Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Close the seacock, pull the hose off, stick a funnel in the end of the hose and pour water/cleaner in while someone pumps the head.
don't need much cleaner and then pump out the tank. After pumping out, pour the pink AF into the funnel to winterize the hoses, head and tank.

Thanks so much. It sound like a few gallons will do the trick. I think the holding tank it empty as nothing is pumping out now un less it needs priming. I will have a look thanks again

Chuck, does that mean when the toilet is pumped it draws water from the river? Is the holding tank in front of the toilet and supplying water for the flush or does the holding tank collect the waist after the flush?
Thanks

I can't answer whether your head draws from a fresh water tank or the river...it can be either. My current boat uses fresh water, but all my previous boats used river (raw) water.
Yes, you should absolutely have a holding tank for the waste.
Follow the water hoses and see where they lead.

I see we are neighbors. I'm in Chester.
Where do you keep the boat? Are you leaving it in the water or taking it out for the winter?
