Default Adding a Separate Bilge Pump Running Indicator Light?

Bilge pump is wired through a contura-style "On-Off" switch with an "On" indicator light (switch also has backlighting). When the bilge pump runs automatically because of the float switch activating, the switch's "On" indicator light comes on even though the switch is off. I like having the light as a warning the bilge pump is running, however, the switch is not located near my line of sight while operating, so I'd like to add a separate indicator light to the dash near my electronics, VHF, etc. What would be the best/simplest way to accomplish this?

connect one side of your new indicator lamp
to the switch terminal where the bilge pump is -
(double up the wires on the terminal)

then connect the other side of the lamp to ground.

Your separate lamp should then work just like the one inside the switch.

You'd better if instead of a light you hooked it up to a small horn or buzzer.

Thanks for the responses, the wiring is like I thought but I wanted to double-check my thinking before starting.

I understand a buzzer or horn for a high water alarm, but this light is going to come on whenever I turn on the bilge pump or it turns itself on, and I'm not sure I really want a buzzer or horn to go off in that situation. I may add a separate high water alarm later, when I add a backup pump this winter.

Also, this is a 25' center console that's dry stored, it doesn't stay in the water and doesn't have a cabin, and no one is ever far from the helm when we're using the boat. For that matter, it's also a positive foam flotation boat, but I don't want to test that capability.

Simple 12V led either red or green is easy to mount, and easy to wire. they are polarity conscious, so make sure (-) is tied to a ground point and the other wire parallels the switch LED indicator.
