Default Honda BF225 VST float stuck open

hi
i Bought a used boat with a Honda BF225 that has bit sitting for at least 2 years
it run ok at first and only has 335 hours on it (year 2003) but while we add it run with the water connected to the engine, gas started to leak from the drain that is in the lower cowling
that pipe is the overflow of the VST and i have been told that the float of the vst is stuck in the open position

how can I fix that ?
do I need to take the VST out and clean it or replace the float ?

help please

Default Honda

I just bought the shop manual from Honda Marine for $130.00 with parts catalog. It comes in a nice 3 ring binder. Extremely detailed. I would buy it if you plan on doing the work yourself.
I buy my Honda parts from Partspak.com they have everything at really good prices.
Just bought a boat with twin 2007 Honda 225’s I plan on doing a lot of maintenance myself.
