Default Bluewater boats...2150

Currently I have a 21 ft bay boat that I love. It is 2 yrs old and runs great. The problem is that I fish primarily offshore. So I am looking at new center consoles. 22-24 ft range. I have read a lot on here about bluewater boats and was wondering why you guys love them. I got a price on a 2150 and it is a few bucks more than I want to spend. Are they worth the price difference?

I owned one. Rides much bigger than its size. Took it to the Bahamas quite a few times in pretty rough weather. You really have to screw up to get it to pound. Ride in one and you will be sold.

Deep V hull design based off the classic 24 deg Formula hull - Like original SeaVee, Contender etc

Very solid built, full enclosed transom, why people love them

My bay boat is nice but I am getting tired of getting beat up. 85k is a lot of money and more than the other boats I have been looking at.

Probably the biggest 21 you will ever fish.I love Contender and I own one but you could fit a 21 Contender inside the 21 Bluewater.A lot of room for a 21.Enclosed transom with bracket and transom door.Boat rides nice as well

That rides better than anything close to its size..... A lot of 21 foot boats are two piece. Get over that aspect

He's not asking about that boat. Have you been in a 21? I doubt you have. I have fished a lot in the old 25 contender and if I was going to get that size, I would look for something different. Good boat but light up front. Even Neber added ballast to the front of his 25 to keep it down back in the day. For 85,000 grand, there is a Contender (used) 27 in immaculate shape with twins on Center Consoles only that I would get instead of that 25. But that has nothing to do with the boat he is asking about.

Contenders are too heavy. Don't want to tow that much weight with my truck.

Canít say enough good things about the Bluewater 2150. I had one built and ran that thing all over the place including lots of solo Bahamas trips.

I dont think there is a 21 that compares to it.

The ride of that little boat is impressive.

To me...any quality boat in the deep V class will ride pretty close to the others. Contender, Competition, BW, etc..Yes...there are minor differences in ride because of weight distribution but not THAT much. So...if you like the the ride of a deep V and don't mind a little rock n rolling when anchored I am sure you will love it. But my point is that I wouldn't get stuck on a specific brand of 24 deg deep V. Find the one that gives you the best deal and satisfies your space requirements. I personally like the 3 piece hull because of the extra toe kick room and ease of installing rod holders, wiring, etc...but that's just me.

Just spent the day fishing in real 3-4í seas in our familyís 2350 Bluewater, it never ceases to impress in the ride department. The 2150 is very similar, just a little shorter and lighter. I donít think you can find a better riding 21í boat in existence. I do not think there are any other 24 degree deadrise 21s in production currently, 21 Contender was the last of the breed and the Bluewater feels much bigger with the full transom and bracket.

I looked for a used one when buying back in 2006 and couldn't' find one. We ended up with the 21 Contender, but the Bluewater would been my first choice. Also, add Competition to your list (they made a 22, not sure if they still do).

I have been on a 2850 and it’s a great riding boat. Always like the 2350 and 2550 too. I didn’t know the 2150 was that pricey. I’d be looking for a 25 competition or used contender with a single. I’ve seen their 22’ sport for around the same price. Maybe see what the 2350 and 2550 are going for with a single 250-400. Might not be much more and resale will be better.

This used 2550 looks really nice just doesn’t show the hours but the depreciation won’t be as bad with this boat.

2150's are definitely nice but the bathtub effect in the bow is a no go for me.

I can't understand why BW hasn't jumped in to the three piece game given the popularity of their 23T.

Don't think I'd call the comparable Contender (23 Open) heavy but... what kind of truck?
