Congrats. I have friends right now who are doing the same thing. Left from Tampa Bay and are currently north of Jax now. Meeting up with them in Charleston for Easter weekend.

That's certainly the trip of a lifetime!!!! Enjoy!!

I had to help cut this 1954 Hubert Johnson Jersey sea skiff up a couple of years ago, She did the Great Loop twice!

A buddy of mine is getting ready to do this on a Meridian 46, and to say I'm envious is an understatement! Look forward to following your journey! It's on my bucket list for sure! You picked a wonderful boat for the trip!!!

Awesome thread. Thanks for bringing us a along. As someone mentioned, more details on the boat (or a link) would be good. There's no way my wife would do this but I would in a heartbeat. Maybe I need a new wife!

I also should have mentioned to keep a look out for a 38' Helmsman trawler "Fish Vicious".
My buddy and his wife is also doing the loop. I spoke to him last week and they were in Lauderdale. He said they felt they were 3-4 weeks behind schedule.

I'll keep my eyes open at Hell's Gate (now there's an ominous sounding name). We are definitely planning to do the Lake Champlain route, and I'll look you up on that.
We are at a free dock in Jacksonville this morning, where we sat out a pretty fierce squall last night. Heading for Cumberland Island today.

Jayne is doing an extended version of our trip log with lots more photos at: Bellagatto36.blogspot.com
Do you plan to go down the St. Lawrence or do the Trent Severn route through Canada? The Thousand Islands are beautiful, but watch out for rocks and shoals! Depth can go from over 100 feet to 2 feet very quickly. A few years ago, I wrecked the lower unit on an I/O on a rock that jumped in front of my boat.

Okay, technically it's up the St. Lawrence. It just looks like down on a map.

Leaving our anchorage at Cumberland Island this morning for Brunswick Landing Marina in Brunswick. Beautiful at anchor here last night, but the no-see-ums were epic!

Excellent trip and I envy (in a good way, of course) you. What a dream and I'll be following.

Please post pics!

Fleming Yachts in youtube has several great (a bit older) videos of something similar. Great watching as the scenery is amazing.
