Default Mounting trolling motor

Iím having problems mounting my motorguide trolling motor because my bow isnít flat, itís slightly bent. I am going to mount it to the hill using a quick release bracket, from previous experience with the quick release bracket if mounted in a bind they donít work very well. How can I compensate for the uneven surface while mounting the motor?

Aluminum spacers at the mounting points to make it level.

I just went through this last week. I ground it down with a 4 1/2Ē angle grinder until it matched the curve. Past experience taught me not to use common abrasive wheels so I bought a diamond wheel at Loweís so the plastic didnít turn black. Do it in tiny increments and have both pieces attached to each other during the process

Did you match just the small rectangle surface of the box fixed to the bow or the total surface of the quick release bracket?
