Default New DF200APs - White or Black?

I am on the fence so I did a really crappy photoshop. I am not sure if the colors are accurate on the white version. On the black version, thats how they are now to give you an idea of what black motors look like. Both White/Black DF200APs have a grey sticker, no red.

Go to silver outriggers and white outboards will win 10/10. Would look very clean.

Black for contrast and whites will not match the hull.

White all day. More resistant to fade as well.

I had a white Johnson/Suzuki in the past and it was hard to keep clean. Exhaust and scum lines showed way to easy.

Thanks all. Keep the votes coming. This will likely sway our decision.

I went white and very happy. They do show scum lines and some exhaust, but very easy to wipe away with a wet rag or brush. I keep them waxed very well so I'm sure that helps. I like the look, and the darker colors always seem to oxidize worse than white.

As mentioned, they will likely not match your hull if it is a bright white. They are a little bit more of an "antique white".

Do the white ones cost more? White looks great but not sure how much I would pay for the look.

Yes but the difference is insignificant to the overall cost IMHO.

do you keep the boat in the water? If so then black all the way. If the boat is on a trailer or lift then white all the way! The exhaust dirt is very easy to clean with magic eraser after each wash.

It in the water. I would never use a magic eraser on anything automobile or engine related. Its an abrasive pad that will severely scratch - not to mention take any wax/sealant off! It will marr gel too. Only use those as a last resort...

This!! After boating in brown water, always was a little orange.

Also, I think you'll have a hard time matching the white to the white of the hull

On that boat either color will look good, some boats depending on if they have a colored boot stripe other trim black might look better
i just went with black 200aps on a 2001 26 reg, I seen the same exact boat as mine with white Suzuki’s and the color whites just clashed together

I have a White DF175AP. I have no idea why this is what Suzuki chose as white. Itís not even white. Itís almost a light tan color.

That being said, black will get hot and look terrible if it fades. It will show water spots and salt. I would go with white anyway. Just be aware itís not white white.

McKee hulls are not a bright white, so the Suzuki white would look good and clean on it
