I really hope so this is a dream boat build for my dad he loves this style hull and just getting to work on it with him has been awesome. I have some CAD drawings I’ve tinkered with, when I finish them I will post the .pdf’s to kind of show the end game here.

PS I forgot to mention the core used was brand Carboncore supplied in Paxton and the boards are slightly thicker than 5/8’s

Well they came with 225ís from the factory and what is easy to overlook is how little the boat weighs, itís a Kevlar hull unlike the SS and most people who have rebuilt the ss or raider up here have put 250s and seen numbers around the low 50s, which is our target top speed.

Man awesome project! Cant wait to see her finished.

And you just mentioned the Scarab Raider.... my neighbor bought a brand new one, blue and red and other wild colors in 1985 or so. It had twin V8 Johnsons on the back.
I fell in love with that boat and still think about it this day.
I have never seen one again.
It's awesome to see you turning a Ninja into a fishing/cruising machine

Should have the far aft stringers in by this weekend my sister took pictures while I was working, the other day, things have been slow exams kicked my ass and my new job has been keeping me tied up in Raleigh, however on weekends that Iím free it gets as much attention as I can give. Though some of the stringers in the front are not level with the rearward stringers they will be cut down before the floor comes in, also Iím going to run knees up along the sides all the way to meet the gunnels. I plan on building the console for this boat am open to suggestions on a cost effective core to use, and depending on what I can and canít find used I might be building a leaning post.

I have a pair of 250s on my Scarab 302 CC - and wish I had gone with 300s. The boat will sniff the seat of 60MPH - with 2 people and 50 gallons of fuel. With 6 guys, fishing gear, and 200 gallons of fuel im touching 45 at WOT downhill with the wind. Go with the 300s!

I had one with a pair of 250EFI Mercs which were strong engines, and loaded down, she was an upper 40s low 50s boat. With a pair of 300XS, she gets close to 2.0 mpg at 40 mph

Best hull ever, well except a Fountain with stepped hull, but why you stayed away from Arjay is beyond me. You could have built a tank but opted for lego pieces, why?

We poured the stringers and transom with arjay and the transom cracked, so we cut it out and put coosa, I have a picture of it on my old phone if I can find it Iíll post it, but we now have a huge whole on the back of the transom that will have to be filled. I believe it was user error my dad and one of his workers poured too much at once and it got too hot. Thermal expansion is an sob on materials like this that do great in compression but horrible in tension ie concrete. The last few stringers going in will be fur laminated with epoxy, if anyone has been wondering how US Composites epoxy compares to West Systems there arenít as many ratio correct pumps but if you donít mind mixing without a pump they are great

I checked, and double checked, before I threw in 50 gallons of Arjay in my transom. Not one hole, no excessive heat, and the rear end got rock solid. Up to the point that when we smacked on 1300HP it worked great until I went WOT at 70 knots, then the stringers became the weak link and I stopped the process and brought it back to the drawing table. Arjay transom and 4í of the rear stringers was ready, but the stringers forward wasnít. They are now triple glassed over foam and should be more than strong enough. Sold the boat to my buddy and he will put twin 300 E-techs on it. Should be all good.

Thatís good to hear, I think twin 300s would be the sweet spot for this boat but my dad feels otherwise he is more keen on 250s...its not my coin Iím just a laborer so whatever he buys will be on the back of the boat.

Your Dad is wrong. This hull really comes to live and shows its performance above 60 knots. It does fine at 40, but so does a Bayliner. I tried to convince my buddy to get trip 300ís but his budget didnít allow for it. Twin 300ís is the least you can put on it to use its full potential.

My 34’ super sport came with twin 225s and even though I never rode in it I assume that was barely enough power. I had a 30 foot scarab with triple 2.5 ROS (260 hp) engines and it worked well. But the 34 is a heavier boat. Anyway my 34 is a long-term project, so I have quite some time to figure out what to use for a re-power.
