Video says it all. This guys brand new Parker 2120 was built... odd. Apparently they ran out of tape measures at the factory that day. Parker then posted in the comments the owner "wasn't being transparent enough"... pretty sure the video was in 1080p. I saw what I needed to anyway.

It does appear Parker is going to help this guy out. Unsure of exactly what that means.

Since you quoted Parker's response you obviously read it. Since you read their response you obviously knew what they meant by the owner's lack of transparency with the offers Parker is offering them. But you still paraphrased a quote making it sound as though Parker was belittling them. That is a jerk move on your part.

No one, to include Parker, feels that this boat should have left the manufacturing facility. A company is only as good as their people, and it sounds as though they have resolved the QC issue on that part of the line. Parker is bending over backward to help this boat owner...it's their problem, they admit it, and have offered no less than three options to fix the issue...up to and including a full monetary reimbursement, a new boat, or a full factory fix of the existing vessel.

I'm not sure why you would post up on here and paint Parker in the light you chose to. They goofed, but they are also offering a choice of some of the best manufacturer resolutions we have ever heard of. Along with some well-founded criticism, Parker also deserves a bit of applause for their response.

Also, I find it very hard to believe "Out on the Reef" would not accept a full refund, or a replacement boat and that his only acceptable resolution is to have the repair done himself. Perhaps true, but very hard to believe. And assuming it is true, I would love to hear his explanation.
The way I read the statement - Parker would fix the boat in a professional, manner by folks that have the most knowledge about Parker boat building, such that the next owner (after the original owner sold it to the next owner) would have a boat that was fixed to Parker's standards rather than to have the boat fixed by a lay person or some independent boat repair shop to some unknown standards.

The boat is new, has a warranty and a warranty claim has apparently been made. The remedies/obligations of the manufacturer are rather simple: repair the boat to new condition and return to the purchaser, replace the boat with a new boat or refund the purchaser the money paid for the boat and take it back.

Is this boat perfect? No, But no boat ever is.
Boats, level's and tapes are a compromise on ones eyes, he who thinks differently doesn't know boats.
Well Im glad you don't build boats. That statement is stupid. I worked for and still part of the Wiggers Costume Yachts family and at night Andy would go into the shop check the days build it always had to be perfect always every screw clamp the layup was critical too be perfection.

Ok. I got ya. I thought it meant Parker was going to sell it to someone else after they bought it back from the guy on the video. But you're understanding makes more sense. I was probably misintrepting or reading too much into what it said.

Stupid it may be. But, go put a tape measure on any boat. Measure things like cleats, c/l, ports, doors.
You would be surprised.
More surprised than calling it a stupid statement.

The owner. He made several videos of mods to the boat and after all of that comes the video trashing it.

That’s a damn shame! I would take their offer on a new boat for sure.

Definitely gonna measure my boat now....

So Parker offered to take the boat back and repair it at no charge, swap boats with an identical boat, and fully reimburse him and he won't take any of those options. He wants the money to "make the repairs himself" aka pocket the cash and not repair the boat. Sorry buddy that's not how the world works. You probably can repair it yourself and send Parker the invoice, but they aren't going to send you a check and call it a day.

I would be upset getting the boat in that condition too. Shit happens but you have to be reasonable. Parker has offered every reasonable solution possible, and if the owner does not want to take any of them, tough luck for him.

Sounds like this guy may actually be ok enough with the boat but simply wants the money. If not why has he refused EVERY single option to remedy the situation? They have offered EVERY option.

Parker makes great boats and just like with everything in life, the law of averages have caught up with them. You will never see an outboard manufacturer go as far as Parker has to fix a problem.

Stick to to your guns Parker. Refund the purchase or offer to fix. Donít let him keep boat and expect a check. Itís not a defective hull itís simply an off measurement! Good grief!

In my eyes itís a good commercial for Parker. I now know if I buy a Parker it will be a great boat. If there is a problem they WILL step up and make it right.

If the reply from YouTube really is from Parker than, that is the way I would have expected Parker to reply based on what little I know of there reputation and the guy is a DB for not excepting there offer and only wanting a payout. I don't blame a manufacturer for not paying out, could start a bad precedent IMO.

I never thought Parker was a quality product in the first place. This thread just confirms my thoughts, I certainly would not own one.
