I'd be happy to have a couple of seven Marine engines on the back of my boat, even if people do think they look like aliens. I prefer the term "beast mode" Unfortunately, currently my wallet is not prepared for beast mode.

Does it really matter if you say counter or contra? - either way it's pretty clear it means the props are turning in opposite directions.

Yeah Volvo held like 80 percent then this past year they took over the remaining. But big things are coming down the pipes per the rumor mill from Eletric engines and rumor also says that they are dropping the 6.2 and putting Vette engines in them for a more effective boost system.

The article says the G2 300, is the king of all motors. That will make 5 or so on this site extremely happy.

I’m interested to see if Volvo has any plans to fit the stout geartrain, mid, and lower, with a diesel.

Adaptions of the D3/D4 units are pretty obvious candidates.
