Default Rhodan Durability

I'm jumping into the trolling motor game after I get my new boat this weekend and have decided on a Rhodan 84. I did a quick search on here and did not find any feedback from owners who've had one for at least 18-24 months or longer (trolls - don't kill me if I missed one, if you have a link that would be helpful). I know they're great out of the box and perform well and all that. Looking for any issues that, in hindsight, might make you rethink the decision as a whole (if any such issues exist).

Thanks and tight lines.

I have had mine for 3 years. I have had it back for repairs a few times but they are very quick to make repairs and even when one of the repairs was due to bumping a dock there was no charge. The internal compass was just replaced a few weeks ago(3years old) and they only charged me $60. Keep in mind that mine lives on the front of a Carolina skiff and gets the crap beat out of it.
I have been very happy with my Rhodan and the company. The Line X is holding up well too and was an up charge when I bought mine that I’m glad I did.

I've had one on my Avenger 25 for 20 months. The 2 issues I've had were taken care of post haste and i live in NC! Motor has worked flawlessly since. Rhodans customer service is the best .

I had to replace internal compass mid way of last season. Unit was wrapping up wire tight around head of motor. I Don't use the TM constantly...but a fair amount nonetheless. It was still under warranty when the problem occurred...Rhodan sent me a replacement internal compass without hassle...took less than 5 minutes to swap. Was painless. Love it...best upgrade on my boat.

Mine is approaching 5 years old and a ton of hours. I put more hours on it than the outboard most days it seems. Over all it's been great, very reliable. As stated when I did need something they handled it quickly. Highly recommend.
