Default Honda OB feedback

Can anyone give me feedback on mid-2000s Honda 150hp outboards? Good, bad, and the ugly.... thanks.

Can't speak to the 150s... I do have twin 2004 225s on my CC. They have been great motors. They currently have about 1,800 hours and still run like a champ. They are fuel efficient and quiet. If you purchase the shop manual, you can easily do all of the service yourself. Depending on the area in which you live, dealer support may be an issues as there are not as many dealers around as there are for other outboards. However, I will say that I have never had a need to take mine to the dealer.

The good would be that they are Honda's.

The bad would be that they are very old.

The ugly might be that they suffer from internal corrosion.

I hate to be that guy but.....if you search on the boating forum on Honda or Honda 150 you should get a bunch of info.

As noted lots of them run and run and run like 10,0000 - 15,000 hours is common, on commercial and USCG boats

corrosion has been an issue

Thanks, everyone. The one I was looking at was a freshwater-only engine. Just got the bad news that it sold before I could get to it.
