Default Electronics

Looking to upgrade electronics on a new to me boat. Wondering what your guys opinions are on for great value and deal on them? Iím looking for radar, side scan, gps and etc. all the electronics are from 2003ish so they all need to go.

So whatís the best bang for buck set up/package? Should I try to go to the boat show or at the rissa show and see if anyone there is doing deals?

We have you covered on this. What kind of boat, where and how do you fish?

If the Garmin 76xx series is being discounted I'd jump all over it. The new 86xx series is out and I'm sure it 100 times better, faster, etc. but I have not heard a bad word about the 76xx series and I really like my 7612 xsv.

If you have a large boat show coming to your area I would hit it up. There are way to many options out there. Once you have a good idea of a price point you want to be at, or features you must have vs want to have then it's reasonable to get feedback here. Once you spend 4 hours touching a bunch of different hardware you will have a better idea what direction you need to head. I just spent the weekend at the Boston show and the new features and screen sizes and touch screen vs buttons and integrated radar or integrated radio.....uhg, so much to look at and think about.

I personally was really impressed with Garmin's newer flush mount touch screen with integrated radar and charting....good luck with your search.

New to me boat is a loa 25ft, itís going to be out of point Judith, mostly fishing block island, Newport, cox ledge and various surrounding areas. Not going to far.

most of my fishing will be drift or trolling.
