I'm kidding. Mostly

At the end of the day, all I hope is that you get your boat and you and your wife get to enjoy it the very best of health.
Im into this $ wise no turning back I either back my builder or lose big time as others will. Fact to much work not enough people no excuse but it happens.

Since you have now finally joined the forum, any chance you can update us on the Jupiter?

Makes sense that OP is defending Willis if he has already given a deposit/signed a contract and feels that he is better seeing his purchase/construction through to the end. I would strongly suggest to OP that he make progress payments on the boat only based on first hand inspections of progress - also make sure that you cut check directly to suppliers for products bought by Willis for your boat (including any subcontractors they employ to rig your boat). You have to assume at this point that Willis is behind with suppliers/subs and that any $$ they get are being used to clear out old payables/obligations - you need to avoid that at all costs otherwise you run an even greater risk of liens on the boat that you THOUGHT you paid for.....Good Luck!

Clinton,

I would say the very best way to make sure you do not get screwed like the others is to give him less money and define the tasks. So less draws and more defined commotion milestones. I would also be willing to be my last dollar that this boat will not be done when he stated it would be. Example: Do not pay for rigging until you see a contract this it is actually going to be done. Trying to actually look out for you as more and more is surfacing about this guy each and every day.

Isn't this a pretty much flat bottom boat? How does it fair in rough chop?

Mike thanks at present I must support my builder. Would like to convey this: the day I signed with the builder wife and I were on the way to put a deposit with a private party on a 30' Contender SST twin 300 Yahm. I had talked to Willis loved the Blue Boat also a 22 Old School then called your 30" customer that sold me on the Willis boat great pitch. Signed with Willis then within a month I was ran over by a intoxicated person as a pedestrian. Since I have had a severe concussion shoulder surgery and last a total hip replacement . I am going on 66 yrs in age after many boats this was the final boat to retire with.. So far Willis has done as promised tanks were placed today. Please give me a chance to get this boat built. I know you have great hatred for Willis. Now A-1 marine seems to be unwilling to rig my boat because of this. Please try to understand my status as I feel very negated at this point. Will know in April May. Thanks good luck and happiness Mike. PS made a mistake posting on other thread embarrassed , that was my enemy Knob Creek talking. Will be in touch good luck.

We all wish you the very best. Please know he owes Alex money and I am sure this plays a big part Of him not wanting to do any further work for him. I am truly sorry to hear about your accident and hope you recover and get to enjoy your passion.

Thanks Mike, I can assure you the rigging will be paid by myself, also the draws are paid as the work is done. This build is paid for cash in the bank, I believe that on items such as a boat if I cannot pay cash I do not buy it. The only thing that will stop my boat from being finished on time is the internet.

I too am wishing you luck. But the internet can not stop your boat build- that fate rest entirely with the builder. Any sub or vendor will happily line up for paid work. Its when people smell robbing peter to pay paul and 30 days becomes 120

Thanks my build is comming along fine all I can say. I will not comment on others that I do not know. When you take away a mans buisness you not only hurt him but others coustomers also people that are owed $ as the man has no means to to work and pay back.
