Default What Size Trolling motor?

Trying to decide what size trolling motor I'll need. Boat is a 23ft hybrid bay style with dry weight of 2800lbs. 12 degree deadrise. Will be using the motor mostly for anchoring over bottom spots
on nearshore structure.

A 80 lbs thrust will do the job but if you fish in heavy tide/current you will be happier with a 101.

Pic of boat or make/model would really help..... I don't think you'll regret picking a 36v over a 24v. Personally I would go with a 60-72" 36v Terrova. A 60" will work but it will pull out of the water on rough days (offshore). You will have to run it all the way down most of the time and it is harder to pick up and stow when it's all the way down. I have a Kenner 23V "hybrid" bay boat. My 72" 36v Terrova is the best money I've ever spent for fishing. I can hold on my spots offshore in any current even in a nasty GOM chop. My coworker has a 60" on the same hull and he regrets not going with the 72" (mainly so he doesn't have to run his all the way down all the time).
