Default New Mercury Engine leaked by Scout....400 non R

release at Miami supposedly....it will be called 400 main. Full warranty on these now.

So what is six outboards on the transom called? got twins, trips, quads, what is 6?

looks out of hand....but maybe it goes to show you the owner wanted nothing to do with the Yamaha 425?..lol

Does it still need premium fuel to get to 400?

If that’s for real, it’s just plan stupid. keeping 6 of anything running in sync would be a nightmare

Interesting. Not sure what boat that is but to me any turn would have the end motors searching for some bite. I am referencing the Merc pic not the barge pic

Now that's not fair to the barge. Those end motors on the barge might be searching for some bite too.

I would assume so since the 350 still requires 91 octane for full performance. 89 octane is still acceptable in the 350 and 400R.

Moving the 400 over to the recreational line-up shows the confidence they have in it to not hurt them financially with numerous warranty claims. I have been very impressed with the longevity of the 400R in many different applications.

The problem with the 400 is that it makes mid-range torque like a 300.

Is there any change besides the “R” designation? I have trouble seeing an extra-wide Scout running up around 7k on six motors with anything like the frequency needed to make it worth it over the 350s.
